Free GP visits for terminally-ill patients: Making your voices heard in Wellington

In July we were invited to present our petition, signed by thousands of you, in front of the Health Select Committee. We made the case that all advanced breast cancer (ABC) patients should automatically be able to see their GP for free. The group of MPs were very moved to hear from Cheryl Carr, who lives with ABC. She spoke powerfully about how she is often forced to choose between a doctor’s visit to help manage her symptoms and putting food on the table for herself and her daughter.

The Committee are now considering our petition and will make recommendations to the Government.
