“I lost my own mum to breast cancer, now I help others”
Earlier this year we welcomed Judith Beattie to our team of specialist breast care nurses. Judith’s mum Marjorie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. Sadly, she passed away 12 years after being diagnosed. Judith says:
“I’d been a midwife for 22 years before I went to Hospice. While there, I was in awe of how caring the nurses were, so that led me back to nursing.I’d seen Mum go through breast cancer, and also watched a close friend go through it too after she had her baby. That’s what drove me to specialise in breast cancer nursing.
“I love going to work each day knowing that we are making a difference to women’s lives, through the advice that we give and the support we provide.”
All of the wonderful support provided by our nurses is funded by donations like yours. We’re so thankful your ongoing commitment means we can continue to offer these vital services.
